Welcome to my site
I have been fortunate to have visited Paris many times and to have enjoyed extended stays over the past 30 years. I have fond memories of time spent in Paris and deeply indebted to my sister's sister-in-law (she can actually provide a German word which actually encapsulates the complexity of that relationship) and her husband for the opportunity to house sit for them on multiple occasions and be able to explore the city as a pseudo-resident. I also thank my parents in this regard for first exposing me to the city on our big family adventure of 1977. It was magic then and always will be for me.
First experiences are always magically new and different makes places special. Paris has continued to captivate me on repeated visits, never ceasing to make me feel alive within and part of a dynamic and vibrant milieu. The second time I arrived in Paris - 1991 I think - I remember the creeping sense of excitement as the train sped through the banlieue seeing sights that I had only seen in through books, magazines and movies. The city was the epitome of excitement. I was with some traveling companions who appointed me the 'seasoned veteran visitor' and I gave a tour of my spots before we found a place to spend the night. I have been fortunate to have since made friends there on visits and been able to soak in the ambiance that i have not found anywhere else in the world. One can truly be alive in Paris!
This site is to share some of my favourite sites and fond remembrances with you dear visitor but also for me to spend some time reminiscing. I hope that i may point out some place you might not otherwise have thought to visit or might recall visiting yourself.
